Magdeburg - Zu Beginn der Europawahlversammlung ihrer Partei hat die AfD-Vorsitzende Alice Weidel für Zusammenarbeit mit Gleichgesinnten im Europäischen Parlament als Maßnahme gegen die sogenannte irreguläre Migration geworben. "Wir brauchen die Festung Europa zum Schutz unserer Heimat, und das machen wir gemeinsam mit unseren europäischen Partnern", sagte die Co-Parteichefin am Samstag vor rund 600 Delegierten in Magdeburg. Diese wählten in weiterer Folge den sächsischen Europaabgeordneten Maximilian Krah zum Spitzenkandidaten für die Europawahl am 9. Juni 2024.
