S Bausparkasse, the housing savings and loan division of Austrian Erste Bank, will set up a subsidiary in Romania in cooperation with BCR, the biggest Romanian bank, also owned by Erste, representatives of the bank told Ziarul Financiar."Weve got concrete plans to establish a savings and loan bank together with BCR. We coordinated our efforts with those of our colleagues from BCR in building the business plan and are ready to submit it for the approval of BCRs and S Bausparkasses Boards of Directors," said Astrid Kratschman, head of S Bausparkasse operations in Central and Eastern Europe. "BCR will establish a savings and loan bank for housing, to achieve a better analysis of customers based on the experience of Erste Bank, the majority shareholder, explained Nicolae Danila, chief executive of BCR. S Bausparkasse also owns subidiaries in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, where it controls a significant market share.
