Some 600 people could find their new job at industrial park in Hlinik nad Hronom, in the region of Banska Bystrica, the towns mayor Dusan Antal said.

Later this year, MWS Casting and Tatranwood will be the first company to start operations in the new park.

"These days the two foreign firms are finishing the construction of production halls. Other potential investors in the park are the Slovak producer of parquet floors Parket Plus, and Pramac Iberica (Spain), doing business in the field of engineering," he said.

Austrias MWS Casting plans to hire a total of 120 staff in a plant to be built here. The company supplies metals products to large automotive companies such as Audi, Daimler, Porsche, BMW and Opel.
